We worry about what a child will be tomorrow,
yet we forget that she is someone today.

A word from her Dad
When Morgan was born Janice and I were young and still searching for many answers. In our heart we believe she came with the message that God was not discouraged in us as we had stumbled so many times. One thing became clear as she began to grow up there are no seven wonders of the world in her eyes. There are seven million. We know God affords no greater responsibility, no greater privilege, than the raising of the next generation. We Loved her enough to raise her.
I guess we have always known she was headed for success. That she would laugh often and much, even at her brother and sisters expense. We have prayed she would win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children. To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty, if it’s a horse running in a field, possibly after her. To find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better. To know even one life has breathed easier because she has lived, that's what her mother and I believe is success.

A child is a person who is going to carry on what you have started. She is
going to sit where you are sitting, and when you are gone, attend to those
things which you think are important. You may adopt all the policies you please,
but how they are carried out depends on her. She will assume control of your
cities, states and nations. She is going to move in and take over your churches,
schools, universities and businesses....the fate of humanity is in her
hands."

The young adults who are Graduating this year across the
nation were born in 1984.
They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.
Their lifetime has always included AIDS.
Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.
The CD was introduced the year they were born.
They have always had an answering machine.
They have always had cable.
They cannot fathom not having a remote control.
Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.
Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.
They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.
They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.
They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile
for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".
They do not care who shot J.R. and have no idea who J.R. even is.
Michael Jackson has always been white.
McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.
They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.
Do you feel old yet? I like to think of it as "wise".
