88.1, I’m John Dash and I wanted to take
just a moment and share something with you. I know times are a
little rough here in Buchanan County right now.
But, I also know this, the greatest asset we have in the
mountains has always been the people. I know many times on the
national news they like to portray us like we are all on our last
leg, but we know better than that. I like that old song, A Country
Boy Can Survive). Let me share with you what’s on my heart. I know
you may not be familiar with New Beginning world outreach.
We have made a stand here in
the mountains for over 20 years now. Building relationships between
those who have and those who have not. We have a track record to
stand on here in the mountains. I was born and raised just over the
hill in McDowell County and spent a lot of time as a boy here on
Slate Creek. I have shared this information with you so you would
know where my heart is, here in the mountains with you.
Here, is where we are at
God’s Country 88.1 we are going to need the support of listeners to
keep this station on the air. So, as I look to the Bible it says in
Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure,
pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give
into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it
shall be measured to you again.
What
we are going to do is Give to you… Now
The FCC regulates what non-commercial radio
stations can say about commercial businesses in their announcements and according to the FCC we are allowed
to 'identify', not 'promote' commercial entities,
which provides general
support for this station.
For the next 3 months we would like to identify your business
here in Buchanan County Free of charge, in hopes that it will help
the economy. This station is a community based station and I know
sometimes that can just be said in passing and listeners don’t know
what that means. For us it means we want to help this county.
The heart of this ministry and this station is to be a
blessing to you.
