Statement Of Purpose

The main ingredient for any successful organization is direction and focus. We believe at New Beginning these are our two strongest points. First we believe successful direction comes from the only true God whom we have chosen to reflect with our actions. King David in Psalms 25:9 said it like this: He leads the humble in what is right, teaching them his way. So with that being a primary ingredient for this organization, we have been directed to share hope with those who seem to have lost hope. This doesn’t always mean a person who is destitute. We believe help needs to come before they end up that way. So maintaining focus along with this divine direction, God has blessed us with this effective outreach which has many aspects.

 

Let me introduce the Founder.

First, allow me the opportunity to introduce myself. I am John Dash, the President and CEO of New Beginning World Outreach. I was born and raised in the city of War, WV. My wife Janice and I have been married for over 25  years now and have three children. We reside in Tazewell, VA. Both she and I have worked in management and administration for many years and feel God has gifted us in this area.

At this current time I am also the Senior Pastor of the Church on the Rock in Tazewell, VA. and CEO of Dash Media Inc. With every successful endeavor there must always be a list of priorities. First priority in my life is God and my personal relationship with Him. I have always found he who kneels before God can stand before anyone. Second is my family, which are treasures waiting to be unveiled. Last is following the vision He has placed in my heart. Life is a journey and a gift. When I pray I try to resist giving God instruction--I just report for duty. I know God has called my family and me for this hour. I have also found that He doesn’t always call the qualified, but He always qualifies the called.

 

Let me introduce New Beginning to you.

Our corporation is a 20 year  501-C3, (IRS) non-profit organization. All gifts are tax-deductible. Our headquarters are located in Bishop, Virginia, just a few miles from McDowell County where in the past the unemployment rate has been  one of the highest in America.

 We are currently in need of food to distribute. I would like you to consider assisting us in any way possible. Our goal is to establish a working relationship with you helping bless the mountains of West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia.

Our corporation has been working for many years now to meet the needs of our area through the distribution of food, clothing and dry goods. At this present time, our storage facility is over 17,000 square feet. We work closely with, and distribute to over 30 local pastors, food pantries, churches and local organizations which represent thousands of  families.

For example, over the past year 2007 we have distributed over a million pounds of food items. All were donated and it is our strict policy that no items donated to this organization are ever sold, bartered or exchanged for services. Final end users of donations pay no money for any goods received. Our mission at New Beginning is to effectively impact as many lives as possible.

Our area has been hard hit, as many others, by loss of local jobs. Many of these families cannot relocate for a variety of reasons. Some homes are without any food, and some families have fixed incomes receiving just enough to pay bills, with no governmental assistance in obtaining enough food to feed the entire family. The elderly are especially vulnerable, thus making us very concerned.

Wherever people suffer, children seem to suffer most. That’s why the staff and I here at New Beginning have made it our responsibility to reach out to those who are in desperate need. Sometimes a little food or a warm blanket provides a ray of light to someone who has lost hope. Man’s way leads to a hopeless end--God’s way leads to an endless hope. Sadly, out of twelve million U.S. children under the age of eighteen, one in five are hungry. Hopefully, with your help we can change this statistic.

It’s heartbreaking to think that here in the United States an estimated thirty million people can’t afford to buy enough food to feed themselves or their families in such a way that they can maintain good health. It’s even more difficult to imagine that over 2,699 infants are born into poverty each day here in America. We are asking for financial support, and for a donation of food items that will go directly into the hands of those who are in need.

 

* What makes New Beginning different?

First, we operate the most effective outreach in our area. Virtually 100% of all donations go directly to those in need. Local volunteers unload and deliver donated items. These volunteers donate their time. Everyone cooperatively works together with a genuine desire to make a difference.

* What makes this organization so efficient?

Our relationships have been built on integrity, not only with the companies that donate food, clothing, and dry goods to this organization, but with the local organizations we distribute to, whether it be a church, local food pantry, or civic group.
